10 months old

hard to believe our little guy is 10 months old today, and only a couple months away from his first birthday! time just keeps flying by. i'm trying to think ahead for his birthday, so that it doesn't end up getting lost in the holiday craziness. anyone have any good birthday cake ideas for a one year old boy? i did a drum for levi's one year, and a butterfly for miriam's. maybe i'll haul out those pictures and post them along with whatever i decide to do for sawyer. please comment with ideas or websites with ideas if you know of them--thanks!

I was trying to find some of the websites I use when looking for cakes. The following was one of them. Maybe you can find something there. Be sure to post a picture! :)

You could do Dirt cake, which is really more of a pudding dessert, but kids like to hunt for gummy worms in it. You can even plant artificial flowers in it, served in a plastic flower pot!

I made bug cupcakes one year - slice off the "dome" of each cupcake, cut it down the middle to make 2 beetle wings. Frost them with stripes or dots (or decorate w/ candies), them put them back on each cupcake so the wings look slightly open. Don't forget a gumdrop head w/ licorice string antennae!
